IRCC

Indiana Radio Club Council Inc.

A not-for-profit association is an alliance of Indiana Amateur Radio clubs. It was formed more than 50 years ago to further the interest of the HAM radio hobby.

In addition to keeping Amateur Radio moving forward, the IRCC also intends to promote cooperation between this state level group and other state and regional groups in adjacent states. The IRCC sponsors the "Bison Stampede", Indiana Technical Excellence Award and Indiana's Outstanding Amateur Award each year.

Membership in the IRCC requires an annual dues of. $10.00 per club.

Amateur radio clubs don't have to be ARRL affiliated to participate in the IRCC.

IRCC ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR
2010 Outstanding Amateur of the Year

Nominations are being accepted for the 2010 IRCC Outstanding Amateur of the Year Award. Each year the Indiana Radio Club Council selects an outstanding Amateur Radio Operator from the nominations received. This Year’s award will be presented during the November 13-14, 2010 Fort Wayne, Hamfest, at the IRCC Forum. Nominations must be received by e-mail no later than October 1, 2010. Past winners are not eligible for this award, however, that does not exclude them from being nominated. All nominees will be honored.

Nominees are judged by their dedication to amateur radio as a hobby, and as a public service instrument. Some of the qualities the IRCC is looking for include, on the air activities, such as; net participation, skywarn, ARES, RACES, and other public service operations. Other qualities are participation as a Ham Radio Mentor or Instructor, club or organization involvement, forum presenter, speaker, Volunteer Examiner, and recruiter of new Hams, especially, our much needed younger generation. Please include as many details as possible about the above activities in your nomination.

Please, when receiving this announcement, forward it to other Hams that you know in the state that may be interested or that belong to clubs or organizations the IRCC has not been able to contact. Pass it around; it is a great chance to recognize the very best of our own Ham Radio Community.

Nominees need not be associated with an IRCC member club, any other Ham Radio club or organization, or the ARRL. Any Ham in the state of Indiana is eligible for this award.

Nomination requirements:

  • Submit as much detail about this person as possible.
  • List the Amateur's call sign, email address, address and telephone number.
  • List your name, call sign, address and email information

                  IRCC Information Exchange

The IRCC has established a mailing list for use by Indiana Clubs and other
interested parties to exchange information. Meeting notices are an example of the type of messages that will be posted by the IRCC officers. The list can also be used by member clubs to exchange information such as hamfest announcements, questions about VE testing sessions, license class schedules  and questions/tips on holding license classes, and any other information that would be beneficial to the amateur radio clubs of Indiana.

Every club, whether a member of the IRCC or not, is invited to have one or
more of their members join the mailing list for purposes of receiving and
sending information via the list.  To subscribe to the e-mail list, go to
the following web site:

http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/ircc

To prevent the purveyors of spam from gaining access to the list, all
persons signing up must be approved by the list administrator.  On the
sign-up page, please enter your call sign and club affiliation in the "Your Name (Optional)" field.
[ Information is NOT optional for this list ]

By taking advantage of additional resource, you will be able to help your
club and other clubs be more successful and to help promote amateur radio in Indiana.

73,
Ray Andrews, K9DUR
IRCC Treasurer & Mail List Administrator
