Synopsis:
Grew up on a farm in Columbia City, Indiana
1987 Married my college sweetheart Julie we have four children

University
1988 present Worked in aerospace industry on meteorological satellites
1989 present Taught college physics part-time
1997 present FCC Amateur Radio licensed (Amateur Extra since 2009)

Indiana ARES Goals:
Stay alert to changing threats and maintain personal and home emergency preparedness
plans to minimize the effect of disasters on your family.
Maintain ARES team readiness and high proficiency in emergency communication skills
through frequent drills, training exercises, and public service events.
Develop and nurture strong working partnerships with local served agencies and community
organizations active in disasters (COADs).
Research and implement new technologies, digital modes, and tools for emergency
communication to ensure we use the most appropriate and effective methods to get the
message delivered
Recognize and utilize the National Traffic System (NTS) as a supporting partner to move
messages into and out of affected disaster regions
Promote community goodwill and a positive image for amateur radio by demonstrating
professional standards of character and competency in all interactions with the public.
