  • Stay alert to changing threats and maintain personal and home emergency preparedness plans to minimize the effect of disasters on your family.
  • Maintain ARES team readiness and high proficiency in emergency communication skills through frequent drills, training exercises, and public service events.
  • Develop and nurture strong working partnerships with local served agencies and community organizations active in disasters (COADs).
  • Research and implement new technologies, digital modes, and tools for emergency communication to ensure we use the most appropriate and effective methods to get the message delivered
  • Recognize and utilize the National Traffic System (NTS) as a supporting partner to move messages into and out of affected disaster regions
  • Promote community goodwill and a positive image for amateur radio by demonstrating professional standards of character and competency in all interactions with the public.
