Minutes of Spring 2010 IRCC Meeting


April 10, 2010

The spring 2010 meeting was held at the Grover Museum in Shelbyville, IN.

The meeting was called to order by IRCC Chair Jack Parker W8ISH.

The meeting began with self introductions.

 

Roll Call:

There were 15 clubs represented at the meeting.

Quorum was established.

 

Silent Key Recognition:

Those becoming a Silent Key since the last meeting were remembered.

 

Officer’s Reports

Chair – W8ISH:

Chair Jack Parker asked Vice Chair Dennis Gilbey, K9JZZ, to report on the Technical Excellence Award nominations that had been received. To date one nomination had been received.

 

Secretary’s Report – W9EEU:

Secretary’s report from the previous meeting was read and approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report – K9DUR:

The treasurer’s report was presented with a balance on hand of $1,539.24. It was noted that Flex Radio made a donation of $189 toward the AOY expenses. Report was approved. The Treasurer also provided a copy of the audit report for 2009.

 

Committee Reports

Bison Stampede – K9DUR

Ray reported that the WVARA will be running two stations for the Bison Stampede bonus operation. One station will be dedicated to CW while the second will be dedicated to SSB.

 

Amateur of the Year and Technical Excellence – K9JZZ

Jack reported that the IRCC is scheduled for the 2010 AOY forum at the Fort Wayne Hamfest. Dennis reported on the AOY presentation from the 2009 AOY presentation at the Fort Wayne Hamfest.

 

Membership & Activities

It was reported that one new club (Whitewater Valley ARA) had submitted for membership. Brown County High School, represented by KA9SWI, submitted for membership during the meeting.

 

Old Business

Audit Committee

The audit committee for this year consisting of Dennis K9JZZ, Jay KB9ZYC, and Wayne KE9P completed the audit and a report was submitted.

 

Other

It was noted that the speakers list on the web sited was in need of an update.

 

New Business

Request for speakers

Pete Lenges, KA9SWI, requested speakers for the Brown County High School Technician class. Any one that is interested should get in touch with Pete and make arrangements.

 

Fall 2010 Location

It was noted that some director’s positions are vacant and will be filled at the fall meeting. The date for the fall meeting was set for October 2, 2010. Eric, K9ZX is to check on a possible location in Noblesville.
