Mike Palmer, N9FEB

IRCC  2009 “OUTSTANDING AMATEUR OF THE YEAR”

The Indiana Radio Club Council has selected Mike Palmer N9FEB for the 2009 Outstanding Amateur of the Year.

Mike Palmer-N9FEB spends countless hours coordinating volunteer service of amateur radio operators for special events like the Indianapolis 500 Mini-Marathon. Using his own funds, Mike has purchased, designed and built an amateur radio communications trailer that interfaces with law enforcement, fire and military communications systems.

For the past two years Mike has headed up the Marion County ARES organization running the weekly net. He often provides valuable information to all listeners and works aggressively to promote volunteerism via the radio during special events.

In brief, Mike Palmer-N9FEB promotes good leadership, stewardship of our amatuer repeaters, proper amateur practice and volunteerism, while using his own time, money and equipment to benefit our public safety and the community as a whole.
