2007 IRCC TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE AWARD

Kevin was first licensed in the early 1970s as KB9QBR while still a teenager.  During the time since he was licensed, he has always been very active in the WVARA, Inc. as a member and as an officer of the organization.   Kevin has been the moving force behind Field Day operations, the WVARA Repeater, K9IKQ, his own repeater, K9HX/R, and many other club functions where his technical expertise could be used.  He holds the Extra Class License and has been very active as a Volunteer Examiner.

When it comes to organizing, maintaining, constructing as well as operating club functions, Kevin will be there during more than his share.  He is a great "Elmer", and has helped many, many new and old hams with problems that they have encountered.

When it comes to electronics, Kevin knows his stuff.  He is employed as the manager of the local operation of a commercial two way radio business.  This knowledge has been put to good use many times when problems have developed with the local repeaters. Kevin uses his skill to conduct "check your rig night" as an annual club meeting.
