2005 IRCC TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE AWARD

Mike Koss - W9SU from Indianapolis has been awarded the 2005 IRCC Technical Excellence Award. Each year the Indiana Radio Club Council selects an outstanding Indiana Amateur Radio Operator who has used their technical expertise to advance amateur radio in their club and community. Among his many accomplishments Mike Koss has contributed to amateur radio and commercial broadcasting for over 30 years. He is often a guest speaker on subject of "Lightning Protection" for ham shacks and commercial antenna installations in Indiana.

He frequently provides technical expertise to clubs and individuals on various amateur radio projects.

W9SU is no stranger to NASA. He has provided many links on 20 meters for schools connecting them with the NASA JPL labs. He helps the students explore the finer aspects of Radio astronomy.

During national disasters Mike Koss has often provided amateur radio facilities for handling emergency health and welfare traffic. His World Class station is always open to the Amateur Radio community.

The awards were presented during a special ceremony at the 2005 Indianapolis Communications & Technology Expo July 9th.
