2000 IRCC Outstanding Amateur of the Year

Jack F. Parker , W8ISH

"This years Outstanding Amateur of the Year Award recipient has shown unwavering dedication to every amateur radio project that he has been involved in.  His attention to family and community balance, while providing outstanding leadership has been described as irreproachable.  He has served his club as its President, and is currently one of the Club's Directors.  He holds an
Amateur Extra class license, and enjoys operating APRS/packet, and PSK31.  He is described as a "Go To" person that can be relied upon to provide his club with monthly programs.  He has worked tirelessly to resolve the most difficult of problems within the amateur radio community.
His commitment to amateur radio is displayed by a considerate and friendly approach to maintaining both local club and central Indiana activities.

During the past five years he has found time to be the editor for "Amateur News Weekly," and in the last year has been the primary factor in the creation of the Hoosier Hams Amateur Radio Club Workshop.

For his continuing strong support of amateur radio within the Mid-States Amateur Radio Club, and the creation of the Hoosier Hams Amateur Radio Workshops during 2000, the Indiana Radio Club Council is pleased to present the IRCC Outstanding Amateur of the Year Award to Jack F. Parker W8ISH, of Greenwood, Indiana."
